As you are all seeing in messages & videos, Urban slums south of musi are facing unprecedented crisis due to heavy downpour. For majority of the slum dwellers, it’s a double whammy, one they are yet to recover from the aftermath of the COVID induced lock down economic shock and two is that thousands of families are now displaced as water has inundated their houses leaving them without food & shelter.
HHF, has taken up relief work like several other Voluntary organizations. 50 Volunteers divided into 5 teams along with Relief Vans are making tireless efforts to reach to the neediest and affected in the floods. Our immediate focus for the first 3 days will be on distribution of Food, water, bread, blankets & fruits.
HHF, is covering the areas where there is still water stagnation and the house hold members are stranded. To name a few we are covering Fatima Nagar (300 Houses), Hashimabad (250 Houses), Ali Nagar (300 houses), Al Jubail Colony (300 houses), Gazi e Millat (200 houses) under Falaknuma - Vatepally division. Other areas of focus are slums in Balapur, Bandlaguda, Talabkatta, Amanagar, Noorinagar, Ganganagar, Bhavaninagar, Afzal Sagar, Gagan Pahad etc.
